Tonight’s moon was a rather shocking shade of orange, and though it’s not unusual to see such a color soon after rising, Colorado’s numerous wildfires provided an unusual show with the moon more than 30° above the horizon. Look for this weekend’s moon to be the largest of the year, with the moon orbiting relatively close to earth.
